Agent Darcy and Ninja Steve Series by Grant Goodman
(June 2017 ~ CreateSpace Independent Publishing Platform)
I enlisted my husband’s help in reading this series, as they are exactly the sorts of books he would have devoured as a child. We agree that the characters have unique and distinctive voices, and we love that they think and act like kids. In the world of Agent Darcy and Ninja Steve, it feels like anything you can imagine can happen. The books are weird, creative, and fun to read – and definitely made for kids. Kids will want to have more adventures in this world!
This would be a great independent reading book for kids of any gender who have big imaginations. The books switch perspectives between Darcy and Steve, making them great to talk about Point of View. The print in my copies was very large, and the sentence structure is generally straightforward, but there are quite a few multi-syllable Tier III words, so I would recommend the books to strong readers in the middle grades or emerging middle school readers.
